About Katoomba Leura Preschool
Established in 1965, Katoomba Leura Preschool has been meeting the needs of local families and the Upper Mountains community for over 50 years. During this time, our Preschool has developed a reputation as a place where children not only commence a life-long adventure in learning, but make life-long friendships as well.
Our wonderfully committed team of educators work closely with the parents, carers and families of their charges to ensure that Katoomba Leura Preschool continues to run with the same enthusiasm that motivated its institution.
Perhaps the best way to look at our Preschool’s wonderful history is that so many of the parents, whose children are currently enrolled, attended Katoomba Leura Preschool themselves!
Structure and funding
Katoomba Leura Preschool is a community not-for-profit organisation. The Preschool is managed by the parents of the children attending the centre in collaboration with the Director.
Our Preschool is licensed by the Department of Community Services for 60 children per day for 41 weeks of the year. We are open during the NSW Department of Education school term from Monday to Friday. We are closed during NSW school holidays and public holidays.
As a community not-for-profit organisation, the Preschool is funded primarily by fees, funding from Start Strong Government funding and from fundraising.
